Mission: Possibly

I am happy to say that I have a place in the city where I can stay for a few nights until I find a more permanent arrangement. I believe my landlady referred to it as the Mission, but I'll have to take that one up with her, because looking at a map, it seems that I would have to be in the SoMa (South of Market) area. In any case, I'm all set up in a cute little guest bedroom in an apartment which she shares with, her energetic 3-year old, her cute cat, and another tenant.

Speaking of her cat reminds me that earlier today I was looking at a room in an apartment in Potrero Hill. As the landlord showed me around, he was surprised that his cat quickly sought me out and began to nuzzle my shoe. My landlady was similarly surprised that her cat immediately took a liking to me and then stretched out his paws to reach up to me and beg for attention. I guess now there is no denying my fate: I will be the stereotypical crazy old spinster with about 40 cats that follow me around.

    When I was picking out my new glasses, I told Pops that the aesthetic I was going for was "modern day spinster." Future spinsters, unite!

    Also, a message from Pops: he's happy to be in the same state as his protege (aka you)! And he enjoyed the cat and thinks Meowie would like him (her?) too.

    Hey, Pops and Jess! How has your visit been? ... I'm lovin your new glasses! I think I already told you, but I just got new glasses myself! (yes, the old beat-up ones that I meticulously scraped the paint off of have been laid to rest!) I guess red-head-future-spinsters think alike :)

    It's been pretty good... actually, we're packing now and flying back to Philly this afternoon. Geez, it feels like we just got here! (And you know how much I loooove to pack/unpack... ugh!)

    I'll have to see a picture of your new glasses! Hopefully, you too are rocking the modern-day spinster look! ;)
